Once upon a time I was taking a picture...

And I almost got run over by a high speed cyclist! all this cobblestone everywhere, It's hard to tell if your on a street or walkway. I decided to walk right into an intersection(of this i was unaware) and take a picture....I risked my life(on accident) to take this picture of a lit up tree, and it didn't even turn out!

SO I am glad to now tell you about my Christmas seen as I survived to see it! it was good. We watched Home Alone 1 and 2 and made delicious Christmas Fettucine. You might ask what 'Christmas Fettucine' is...it's Fettucine on Christmas day :) It was nice to make a real meal for ourselves, the peanut butter sandwiches are great, they don't always cut it though...and my pb supply is dwindling *sigh*

Today we arrived in Cork, Ireland. And as you will see a picture of me sitting on the ground...you may not be able to tell....BUT I am playing the Harmonica :) yes, yes I am. earned some big bucks playin that today!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

p.s. YOU ALL NEED TO SEE IRELAND!

It's beginning to look alot like CHRISTMAS...

Really...it is! So much snow, apparently it's very unusual to have this much snow, and cold weather. People keep blaming us Canadians for bringing it here with us....I'm starting to think we actually did! shoot.
I LOVE IRELAND! So far I have walked a whole lot, had a baileys hot chocolate(YUM), eaten some delicious Irish cream fudge(also YUM), and went on a whisky distillery tour in which I tried my first whisky! well I had a hot toddy, whisky with hot water and cinnamon and cloves(Kinda Yum, it'll take a lot more sugar in there to make it my kind of drink)...I still need to try a minced pie though, they seem to be everywhere, even Mcdonalds. so thats next on the agenda.
Today we went to see Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland, it was breathtakingly beautiful! so very cold out near the water, but everything was soooo green, and then off in the distant so snowy. it was pretty :)
One more day here in Belfast, and then Christmas eve we travel down to Dublin for a couple nights. I then get to open a present my mom and pops sent with me! I already opened 2 of the gifts...cause I knew they were chocolates :) thanks for those my lovely parents!
Got some more pics for you guys again!
oh and the guy in the picture is my friend allan who has now come to travel with me and Randi for the next 10 days...
peace out!

Maybe I shoulda packed my winter boots...

Today we experienced sunshine, rain, snow, and hail, all within an hour...so I guess it's not that much different than Manitoba! We waited for this weather to finish before we decided to trek up a steep mountain trail. However on the top it happened all over again....the rain, the snow, the hail. Oh but of course there was old ruins of some sort to take shelter under! So we stayed there for a while, and finally made our slow, slippery trek back down. it was a good 3 hour...ish adventure, that I am glad we experienced, but was so happy to be done with once we stepped through the hostel doors. And that concludes today, I am wet, and cold, and I finally gave in and bought a starbucks drink today.
now here are some pictures!

Glad I didn't pack those high heels...

....Like I would pack them...but wow with all this cobblestone, seen some girls having a rough go at walking down the streets haha. I Love Edinburgh...If you can get passed how dirty the streets are, and how obsessed with ghosts, and all their ghosts tours they are, well then it's quite a wonderful place!
I love the cobblestone, the cute hilly streets, the castles, it's just beautiful! Oh and kilts, I like them, I find myself staring at men in kilts cause I'm just fascinated with them...apparently they are quite comfortable, I asked.
We explored a castle yesterday that was built towards the end of the 11th century! talk about old. There was a part in which I went into a dungeon quarter, and I found myself quite worried that it was gonna collapse on me any minute...like it actually would, I guess I really am just as paranoid as my mother is in life :) and mom, you know you are.
Randi and I have been eating at pubs every night, we've found good deals...2 meals for 7 pounds, 2 meals for 10 pounds, and last night we struck gold, 2 meals for 6 pounds! so we went in, ordered, and ate, the chicken looked so good, Mine tasted a little off, but I didn't really inspect the food until I was nearly finished, to see that the middle of it was completely uncooked. I am feeling a little off today, and googling the different symptoms of salmonella poisoning...we'll see what happens. that is the end of the 2 meals for a cheap amount deal for now.

That is all for now, I will post pictures next blog.
Enjoy your day guys!

Beyond the jetlag...

Inverness Scotland, the city that shuts down at 6pm on a saturday night!!! What is the deal? Even the Starbucks is closed, and so I to sit here, in my hostel dorm room, and write this blog.
We went on a Loch Ness boat tour today, it was nice, but real cold...and we spotted Nessie...I know that it was like -35 or something for ya'll out there in Manitoba. but -1 on a boat, that ain't so warm, I have so much stuff but apparently it is not enough to keep me warm out here. The last city I said to myself that I was gonna throw away one item in my luggage in every city I go. Glasgow I said goodbye to my hairdryer, considering I plugged it in like 3 times and every time it made all the electricity go out...too much power I guess. so goodbye to that, my bags weigh a little less now, so YAY!
Ok but on the tour today, we got to explore some really cool castle ruins, it was so old, and beautiful! and the grass was so very green! Scotland is wonderful, it makes me smile.
Well that's it for now...sorry if this is lame. It's all I got for today...and no I did not actually spot Nessie.
peace out.

The Scottish, I can't understand them...

Well after a 9ish hour night bus ride from London to Glasgow, and a short train ride to a little town called Blantyre, we arrived at our first stop in Scotland. Relatives of a friend of Randi's...they are sweet!

Unfortunately for them they have to repeat things to us many times! haha but it's all good, we laugh, they laugh, all are having a good time....I hope :) I'm thinking it would take a while to start to understand the accent and slang, but we don't have that much time, and so 'pardon me' will be a daily phrase used in this country forsure!

We explored a bit of the town today, there's not much here....we are excited to go and explore Glasgow tomorrow and take a bus tour! I hope it's on a double decker bus...

In the beginning...

WE HAVE ARRIVED.
for those of you who don't know where I am or what I am doing...I shall explain. For a month and a half I will be travelling around Europe, hopefully not moving around to much because my mass amount of luggage haunts me day and night already. I will then be heading over to Germany for YWAM(youth with a mission) for a Photography program...for 3ish months there, and then 3ish months to Africa or Asia(this being with YWAM as well) Not exactly sure how that will look or where I will be going but I do know that it will be an adventure indeed!
I have no pictures yet, they will come eventually, when I feel creative enough to start shooting.
I do have one picture of my friend whom I am travelling with, right when we have arrived, in our matching purple shirts(which was not planned at all by the way, kinda wish I woulda known she was gonna wear that, we probably would have went ahead and put a tacky but yet very cool team name on there :) )
We are trying to get over jetlag. I hope it happens soon.
Peace out.
